WHAT:

The #smashSMARDchallenge was designed to bring awareness and necessary funding for this ultra-rare disease that currently has no treatment.

WHY:

We need YOUR help to raise about $1.5 million to fund Nationwide Children's Hospital Gene Therapy Research. Gene therapy is a well documented treatment for this disease in animal models.  The plan is to translate this promising data into a human clinical trial in the near future.  

 

HOW:

1) Use a cell phone to record the challenge​.

2) Tell audience why it is important to you.

3) Smash a pie in your face or ask a friend/family member to do it for you.

4) Nominate 3-5 others to take the #smashSMARDchallenge and to donate!
